Some of the state’s oldest vines go into this Cab, one of the region’s most age-worthy wines year after year. The product of old vines at Champoux Vineyard and Sagemoor Vineyard incorporates Petit Verdot (10%) and Syrah (3%) from the Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard. Aromas of Bing cherry, raspberry syrup, milk chocolate, cedar and truffle lead to an elegant presentation of cherries, light chocolate and raspberry. A touch of slate adds finesse to this stately bottling that features A.P. Woodward – the winery’s namesake who served in the Army. Last spring, this earned a double gold at the 2016 Walla Walla Valley Wine Competition, a scholarship fundraiser for Walla Walla Community College. This fall, it grabbed gold at the 2016 Great Northwest Invitational.
