Valentine’s Day has started to grow on me over the years & I have kind of repurposed it to be less about one person, and more about celebrating love in general. This year, we are having a bunch of friends over and just using Valentine’s Day as an excuse to hang out, catch up, and celebrate friendship. Sounds pretty fun right?

In addition to all of the Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Rosé we can find, we are serving up homemade donuts, orange cranberry scones, and a side of DIY! That’s right kids, we are getting a little crafty!

No, no, don’t worry, we won’t be spending the afternoon with scissors and glue sticks making adult valentines, this activity is much easier. We are making Valentine’s Day balloons! They are so fun, so easy, wildly entertaining, and this little DIY is a great way to add festive decorations to any room.

SUPPLIES:

  • 5+ white or pink latex balloons
  • Kiss stickers (purchase online or at a craft store)
  • Ribbon (to tie to your balloon)
  • Helium tank (rent from your local hardware store)
  • Red (or a fun dark color) confetti
  • Small funnel (or piece of printer paper)
  • Several bottles of Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Rosé

  2. Inflate your latex balloon and tie a ribbon at the end.
  3. Place kiss stickers all over the bottom. The more, the merrier!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONFETTI BALLONS:

  1. Refill that glass of wine – you are a balloon crafting pro!
  2. Grab a small funnel and place the lip of the balloon around the nozzle (if you don’t have a funnel, roll a piece of printer paper in the shape of a funnel and space narrow end in the balloon)
  3. Grab a handful of confetti and pour into the balloon
  4. Pour as much or as little as you want in, remove nozzle, blow up, tie off, and shake balloon so confetti spreads out. Tie a ribbon around the end & voila!

Yep, it really is that simple! Have a few balloons already done and use as decorations around the house. Your guests will comment on how cute they are (because, hello, they are adorable) and it will naturally transition the conversation to the DIY. It’s also a good idea to have all the supplies spread out on a table away from the food and the sitting area.  This gives your guests a fun activity to do, a new way to meet new people, and it’s weirdly very entertaining to play with balloons as an adult.
